Welcome back guest lecturer Bradley Bailey, associate professor and art history program director in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts at Saint Louis University.
Who was Betalo Rubino, the enigmatic, Spanish-born dancer captured in Robert Henri's iconic portrait at the Saint Louis Art Museum?
Join Bradley to explore Rubino's intriguing life and her role as a muse for Henri and other early 20th century artists. Bradley will also discuss Henri's fascination with dancers, including his use of his second wife Marjorie Organ and her sister Violet “Viv” Organ as figure models.
