Soulful, vibrant, and creative are just a few words that describe Scooter Brown. An East St. Louis native, Brown graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in communications with an emphasis in media studies. While in college, Brown gained the experience of being a bandleader and studied with saxophonists Rich Moore and Geof Bradfield. Throughout his career, he has played with Sy Smith, Gregory Porter, Bilal, Keyon Harrold, Casey Benjamin, Terrace Martin, Terrence Blanchard, Mali Music, Pharoahe Monch, Shedrick Mitchell, Sean Jones and many more! 

Scooter Brown refers to his music as Life Music. “I like to think of real life situations that people can latch on to take them somewhere totally different. My job is to help wipe away the troubles that people might face before coming to hear me play or spin a set.”
